History
The First Coast EMS Advisory Council was formed in 1987. The purpose of the FCEMSAC is:
To act as a regional EMS advisory body, keeping members informed about State and National issues which have impact on EMS.
To Promote regional coordination and cooperation of EMS services
To act a liaison between the State Bureau of EMS, the State EMS Advisory Council and the First Coast EMS Advisory Council to represent our position on EMS issues to the State Advisory Council.
To provide a forum to discuss the common problems and concerns shared by EMS providers serving the first coast.
To promote training and education of the professional providers and members of the general public in the provision of emergency medical care.
To promote optimal performance standards.
To recommend to the respective County Legislative Bodies the adoption of such resolutions, or passages of such ordinances, as may be required to ensure the accomplishment of the purposes stated herein.
To engage in the planning development and implementation of such activities and programs as deemed desirable in order to accomplish the Council’s general objectives or purposes. This can be done by the Council alone or in conjunction with other persons, groups, firms, corporations or organizations.
Officers
Chairperson
Greg Miller
Greg currently serves as the Chairperson of the Advisory Council. Greg also serves full time as the EMS Liaison for Memorial Hospital.
Vice Chair
Fino Muralo
Fino currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Advisory Council. Fino also serves full time as the Deputy Fire Chief at the City of Fernandina Beach Fire and Rescue Department
Secretary/treasurer
Kevin Kotsis
Kevin currently serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Advisory Council. He is also the EMS coordinator for Ascension St. Vincent’s Health System.
